Chelsea 1998

A contemporary water garden designed for London’s Evening Standard newspaper.  Light and shade transformed this garden throughout the day.  As this garden could be viewed from two sides, I planted the borders richly and added a steel water sculpture by William Pye’s to lend a modern otherworldliness to the classical yet contemporary, lines of the turf dais and pleached lime bosquet.  Gold medal and ‘Best in Show’ Award.
