Palazzo Parisi

Dominating a hilltop overlooking the small village of Oliveto, an hour northeast of Rome, is Palazzo Parisi, an ochre-coloured medieval fortified house.  Avenues of cypress and olive trees are planted in a grid design. Shady terraces take advantage of the beautiful views across the Sabine Hills.  A swimming pool skirted by lawn on one terrace is surrounded by Mediterranean plants and local grasses.  The planting overall creates a romantic setting for the house, chapel and other features, reflecting the character of the surrounding countryside.
